젊은 비르투오조에서 이제 원숙한 대가로 부상하고 있는 키릴 게르슈타인이 무소르그스키의 전람회의 그림과 슈만의 사육제를 연주한다.

최근 그의 전람회의 그림 해석은 ‘기념비적인 해석(The Boston Musical Intelligencer)’이라는 찬사를 받고 있는데, 지성적인 악보 읽기를 바탕으로 하면서도 러시아 악파의 빛나는 명인기를 잊지 않고 있어서 알렉세이 루비모프나 에프게니 코롤리오프 같은 선배들의 전통을 잇고 있다는 느낌을 받게 된다.

슈만의 사육제 역시 작곡가의 개인적인 메시지를 섬세하게 표현한 멋진 연주이며, 선명한 녹음도 음반의 완성도를 더했다.
