2001년 발표되어 유럽에서 흥행에 성공하며 크리스 데푸르트를 우리시대 뛰어난 오페라 작곡가로 인정받게 한 작품 <문으로 들어온 여인>을 만나게 되는 음반이다. 아일랜드 작가 로디 도일의 소설을 바탕으로 만들어진 본작은 클래식은 물론 재즈 분야에서도 활발한 활동을 벌이고 있는 작곡가의 성향에서 알 수 있듯이, 복잡하게 얽혀있는 이야기 구조와도 어우러지는 다채로운 음악구조를 펼친다. 재즈의 어법으로 거슈윈을 연상시키는 부분이 있는가 하면, 때론 70년대 아트록의 분위기가 폭발하여 슈니트케가 보여주었던 복합적 모습을 더욱 확장시킨 걸작이다.
