17세기에 창설되어 지금까지 이어지고 있는 유서 깊은 왕립 네덜란드 해군 악단이 로열 콘세르트헤보우 오케스트라의 독주자들과 함께 러시아 작곡가들이 쓴 군악대 음악을 들려준다.

여러 해에 걸쳐 러시아와 깊은 교류를 한 이 악단은 단순한 군대 행진곡부터 본격적인 클래식 작품에 이르기까지, 림스키-코르사코프, 프로코피에프, 쇼스타코비치, 스트라빈스키 등이 쓴 다양한 작품을 연주한다.

바르트 클레센스(트럼본), 알렉세이 오그린트추크(오보에), 올리비에 파티(클라리넷) 등 RCO 수석단원들이 들려주는 독주 역시 대단히 인상적이다.
